These past few weeks have been amazing. Within the past month, events have occurred in my life and my Jonathan’s that can only be attributed to God’s providing hand.

Jonathan and I have moved from our home near Fort Wayne IN, to French Lick IN, about 4.5 hours southwest of Fort Wayne. about a month ago Jonathan met a young man named Nick at a meeting. The two of them began talking and discussing the different things they do. They only had a few minutes to talk, but Nick ended calling up Jonathan later and they talked more. After a few hours of discussing via the phone, they decided it would be extremely important for everyone involved to meet together.

After praying about the situation and deciding that it was the right thing to do, Jonathan and I set out for a drive down to Nick’s house. We spent the weekend with him and his family and had a wonderful and relaxing time. We decided that Jonathan, Nick, Gunnar (Nick’s brother-in-law, a [kind of a] viking! [actually Norwegian]), and myself would work together as a team.

Jonathan and I headed back home, and over the next two weeks we tied up loose ends and packed to leave. I will definitely miss not being around my family! I will especially miss my two baby brothers; one is over 2 years old, and the other is 7 months old. I know that this move was in God’s plans because His providence opened the way for all of this to happen, and in am amazingly short time.

We are now planning to work together as long as the Lord would have us work. We are staying with Nick’s parents, who have graciously opened their home to us and given us rooms to stay in.

I look forward to seeing all that the Lord has in store.

In this portfolio I’m going to be showing some of the logos and websites I’ve been blessed to work on in the past few years, along with links to tutorials (as often as I’m able) to show how I’ve drawn different things.

I believe that we can only receive as we are able to give, and it is with an open heart that I will gladly share many of the experiences I’ve been blessed with in designing and developing online.

This is a short tutorial that will show you how to draw a banana using Adobe Illustrator CS3 (or drawing by hand). When drawing on the computer I use my wacom tablet with Illustrator.

While taking some college classes, I was blessed have a teacher that showed me some great drawing methods. She taught me a method of drawing called “gesturing”. When you gesture it’s like scribbling as fast as you can without really thinking about the individual lines you are drawing. Instead you are thinking about the end result, the form of your object. I don’t always employ this method in my drawing, but it is a wonderful tool that I often use and find extremely valuable.

If the concept of gesturing doesn’t completely make sense to you, just follow some of my tutorials and watch the scribbles that I make and, with practice, you can become efficient in this method of drawing.
