Have you ever given a child a beautifully wrapped present with the perfect toy inside? They eagerly rip the box open to reveal its contents. Then they turn their attention to the wrapping paper or the box itself. As adults we laugh at the child’s priorities.

Children are simple. When I was a kid, before we had a computer in our house, I was content to spend afternoons outside. You could find me in the woods climbing trees, catching frogs by the creek, or playing fort.

When a kid doesn’t feel that he’s missing he’s happy with just a few things. Some children have hundreds of toys and never seem to be content. The next time you want to something special for that little person in your life consider spending quality time with them, they’ll remember that forever.
