Amplifying failure
Everyone fails at things they try. No-one is immune. Because failure is associated with embarassement, it’s far too easy to cover up the mistakes and smooth out the rough patches.
Resumes, LinkedIn, the stories told to peers, reflect the polished version of the past, leading to hopeful rosy futures.
Within all this exists an opportunity to stand out. Admiting failure makes you human, separates you from the crowd, shows you’re willing to just try something and see where it goes.
The only failure within failure is to not learn from it. Most often some insight can be gained, some nugget pulled out to iterate on next time.
The greatest growth can come from falling down, getting up again, and living with the bruises.
