Complications on my Apple Watch
It’s 2025 and a good time to record what’s on my Apple Watch home screen.
On all my devices I like things as minimal as can be.
On my iPhone my homescreen has the Apple Calendar Widget at medium size, and Things 3 at medium size.
That’s it.
The iPhone Dock is empty and all my apps are in the app library when I swipe right. All notifications are turned off and I have to go the app library to see if I have any new text message or phone call badges.
Note: If anyone knows how to get rid of the black screen when I swipe left I’d love help on that. Not sure how to get rid of it.
On my Apple Watch my Watch Face is Modular Ultra (only available on the Ultra mdoels).
Across the top section my complications are Weather > Temperature, Weather > Rain, World Clock > Sunrise / Sunset.
These help me know how warm it is, whether I need a jacket, and when it will get too dark to go my on daily runs.
Next is the time, digital (I can’t read analog) without seconds (don’t need that kind of stress) and Calendar > Your Schedule.
At the bottom I have Music Recognition (previously called Shazaam), Things > New To-Do, and Calendar > Today’s Date.
All these complications have made my watch incredibly valuable at a glance. I can add todo items, check my next meeting, have a sense of the weather, capture songs if I hear them playing, and see the date and time.
Occasionally I shift complications, but overall I’m happy with the current setup.
