Connecting to the story

I love reading fiction.

In fact I love reading of all types.

But fiction holds a special place for me. In a great story you can get lost in the imaginary world, and connect with the crazy characters doing fantastical things. But more importantly, at least for my own development as a child (and even now as an adult), you can connect with the real world through the places crafted by amazing story tellers.

Recently I finished reading Children of Time, based on a recommendation from a friend. It’s one of the first novels I’ve read in years. Most of my consumption has been through Audible. I chose to download it to Kindle and enjoyed pouring across pages each night before going to bed.

The story arc, the characters, and the mystery unraveling across time captured my attention—all while breaking down universal prejudices we hold. In short, I loved the book.

Now I’m reading The Devils, a whole new story and world from Joe Abercrombie. Within a few short pages I felt myself pulled in, connecting with the characters, and wanting to follow their stories.

Great fiction does this. If you haven’t found a good book to read feel free to reach out. I love to share my favorite stories, and also learn about new ones.
