Finding when to live

We are looking forward to a thing that will happen. We’re hoping for a thing that may happen. We’re dreading that event that could happen.

At the same time we’re thinking back to the thing that did happen—and how much we wish we could change it. All while sitting in the present but missing it.

It’s ok to think ahead. It’s fine to look back and consider. It’s also good to be in the present. Too much time spent on either of these tends to put us off-balance.

The sweet spot is allowing ourselves to slide back and forth as needed, never too far on one side.
