Friend of the Show
TL;DR - New podcast and new discussions.
I’ve been podcasting on (and mostly off) since 2017, when my buddy Rheinard Korf and I started a fun dive into what it meant to work remote and work in our perspective fields.
I caught the bug and realized how much I loved it—an avenue to talk to amazing people and share the stories with others.
For the last year I’ve been kicking around an idea, inspired by Fractional guests, Async conversations, and several other in-progress and archived podcast ideas. My idea was to invite old and new friends onto a podcast to catch up.
We’ve all tried reconnecting with people we care for, often with the best of intentions, but life gets in the way. I have one good friend that we’ve been playing telephone Zoom with for a while.
Enter Friend of the Show, a podcast centered around discussions with interesting people. Normally with podcasts like this I record a bunch of episodes ahead of time and ship it only when I’ve landed on a theme. But this time feels right from the beginning.
My first guest, Devon Dundee, is a podcaster, writer, tech enthusiast, and is Creative Media Director at his church. In the hour or so that we recorded we found opportunity to connect, dive into some questions we weren’t expecting, and discussed a topic that’s been on my mind for weeks now.
Though I’m a huge fan of async communication, and try to avoid any meetings when I can, there’s something special about connecting (occassionally) to dive deep into topics in real time.
If you’re interested give it a listen, and please share any feedback you have.
