Getting an idea off the ground
Ideas are precious. While they’re floating in our heads they are perfect. But capture that idea, wrestle it to reality, and suddenly it’s warts and wrinkles appear.
Taking that messy thing and converting it into something viable requires an immense amount of work. Most ideas never get off the ground again. They go from intangible to concrete to dust.
The way around this is to ship early, and ship often. If you’re a recovering perfectionist you have to wrestle with how early and how ugly the idea can be before showing to the world.
For most things just assume it’s too late and get it out there.
