Having a take

I’m working on having stronger takes. What does that mean? Instead of dithering on a topic I state my opinion and back it up with available data.

It’s straight to the point, and can be disproven.

There’s risk in having takes. You could be wrong. But it’s also refreshing. You’re someone with a view, an idea.

Some of my favorite podcasts come from hosts willing to step out and share their views. The followup, of course, is just as important. If you find you’re wrong on a take, you benefit others by sharing an update with the new data that you’ve found.

So, in my writing and podcasting I’m trying that more. Trying to have a stronger opinion, but loosely held as they say. Willing to state my belief, but adjust it as needed.
