How personal should a personal site be
Every time I share something that’s a bit more personal, a few emails from strangers inevitably trickle in and they all share this sense of relief in knowing other people out there are struggling with the same problems they’re facing. And so I’m wondering if I should be doing it more. Maybe there’s value in being vulnerable on the web sometimes.
Manuel asks the question I’ve often wondered. I don’t know how much or little to share online, and it’s always a guessing game. I’ve never gone all in one writing the depths of my soul. Instead I curate, take a breather, and write in the abstract.
I’ve found, though, that the stories that are a bit more personal, pulling back the veil a bit, tend to elicit responses the most.
It’s not that I’m digging for clicks and engagement, but I do want my words to matter and have impact.
Glad to see I’m not the only one wondering about this.
