Lightning check-in
I’m ready for lightning to be out of my life. Maybe USB-C isn’t the ultimate future, but I really wish it was my present reality. Currently I have a handful of devices that need charging and don’t use USB-C.
They are: AirPods Pro, Magic Keyboard x2, Apple Magic Mouse x2, Airpods Max, and iPhone 14 Pro (used for testing). This doesn’t include a family iPad that occasionally needs lighting charging.
I also have a Kindle Paperwhite somehow still existing on Micro USB.
This stuff is way too costly to replace, so it will likely be another five years before I’m out of it. At that point we’ll have a new connector and the journey will start over. Maybe I’ll get a small reprieve where a single cable can charge everything.
Oh wait, I have an Apple Watch too.
