Peanut butter on both sides

Recently I had to prepare peanut butter sandwiches for an outing.

I watched in confusion as a friend slabbed peanut butter on both pieces of their bread, then added jelly betwen the layers.

My first guess was they really liked peanut butter—something I would never fault a person for.

Hours later the truth was revealed when I pulled my soggy bread-soaked sandwich out of my bag, and watched as my friend enjoyed fresh bread protected by the oily coating of the peanuts.

It’s a tiny thing, but I learned something new in that moment. I’m glad I can keep learning and improving on the things I don’t know.
