Perplexity trying to pick the scraps from Siri

Perplexity has updated its iOS app with a new Voice Assistant feature, bringing conversational AI capabilities to Apple devices, including older iPhones and iPads that don't support Apple Intelligence. The update allows iPhone users to interact with Perplexity's AI assistant through voice commands even when navigating away from the app.

Another day, another reminder of how terrible Siri is. I stopped trusting it a decade ago and have been thoroughly rewarded for having absolutely zero faith in its ability to do even the most simple of tasks.

Yes I know, you can make it work some of the time if you’re incredibly deliberate. But as a whole system it fails too much and just makes it completely untrustworthy. Interesting to see Perplexity finding a gap to fit into the failed Apple assistant. Maybe Apple should just buy them.
