Product design's path

Everything changes, then it changes again.

In the last few years AI has come to change many fields. I’ve watched to see where design will be affected.

It starts on the edges, where things that took forever happen in an instant.

I keep testing out the tools as they emerge, seeing if they’ll make a difference in how I design. I’ve not seen anything yet that’s transformed how I think and work as a designer, but I keep checking, keep looking.

At this point I’m expecting it to happen, that parts of what I do for work will be replaced. Rather than from from it I plan to embrace it, and pivot as needed.

When a career is built on changes one more is less scary.

The thing I’m looking for, and have heard from others, is whether design, product management, and engineering, will merge in some new way. I’m curious to see if it happens and more curious to see if I follow it.
