Real conversations and messy people

People are complex, messy, creations. They are not defined by a single factor. Despite some of our more synical takes no-one is truly one dimensional.

Recently I had a chat with a buddy over dinner. I tried to explain my philosophy of life—yes I know, a bit on the nose. But still, for me I believe that people are just straight up nuanced. We’re not black and white, there’s infinite gradients of gray between the poles.

I’m growing to appreciate peopler, even when I wholeheartedly disagree with them in numerous ways. I can call out someone for an area where I believe they’re wrong—while at the same time appreciating when I see the good.

It’s hard, in today’s environment to see the good. But we can find it when we look, even if it’s mixed in with things that can’t be supported.
