Riffing and writing

Over the last few years I’ve been testing with different methods of writing and speaking. What I’ve found is one always benefits the other.

On a recent episode of Async I was able to verbalize thoughts I’ve been playing with in my head in a way that I hadn’t written out yet.

The back and forth of time with voice and time with a keyboard helps unlock different parts of my brain, and ultimately gives me multiple avenues toward being the creative type of person I want.

This is where I see AI as a potential problem. If we don’t take the time to push our brains, challenge ourselves with ideas, and practice, then we’re risking atrophy with the most important parts of ourselves.

Does AI help? Sure, it can. But sometimes just writing a crazy idea into the dark, with little regard for editing, can help unlock something amazing.
