Sleeping with an Apple Watch

A few months ago I started tracking my sleeping. I’d tried in the past but found the whole thing uncomfortable because I mostly sleep on my side.

A trick I tried was to flip the watch around, facing my inner wrist at night. Now that I’m sleeping with it (and setting my phone and watch in sleep mode), I’m getting data that shows how many hours of rest I’m actually getting.

It’s not as much as I’d like. In fact, I’m not certain of its value yet. Telling me I slept very poorly based on the data generally matches up with how I felt. I usually know that I’m tired. But still I’ve appreciated seeing the trend of one week over the other.

My only wish now is that I could track my naps and add to the data. Somehow that seems not to work.
