The march of AI

I’m mixed on AI’s benefit to us in 2025. I keep testing things. Every week it seems that tools improve. After months of trying I’m finally at the stage of asking ChatGPT questions by default. I still get frustrated at the delay, but it’s often faster to ask ChatGPT something and wait versus getting instant answers from Google I’ll have to wade through.

With the constant interations of LLMs it’s easy to forget how far we’ve come. I recently needed to remove backgrounds from a handful of potraits.  Though this is a different category, and not specifically related to AI, it’s in the same broad bucket.

A task that used to take me minutes (or longer) to mask out images and tweak the borders is now effectively instant.

That’s amazing.

Things like this make me appreciate how far technology has come. I’m glad I don’t have to spend time doing the menial work of masking out an image. I spent plenty of time with that in the past and would much prefer to put my time to better tasks.

And so AI marches on.
