Book cover drafts

Author Mary Childs shares some of her “stress-designed” drafts: On Trying (and Really Failing) to Design My Own Book Cover. “It’s a miracle any cover is ever good.”

I absolutely love seeing the ideation taken to arrive at a book cover design. I’m a designer myself, and have taken a stab at a couple book covers in the last few years. I can absolutely affirm that it’s one of the more challenging things I’ve attempted to design. Love knowing I’m not the only one, and seeing the artistic process taken is beautiful.
