Writing so it's not lost
Listening to a recent episode of Connected, I loved the discussion about saving things to read later. At one point a host (maybe Stephen) asked in aghast what Myke would do if he lost an article by unsaving it in his RSS reader or bookmarking app. Myke’s response was essentially that it’d be fine, it’d come back to him on the wind if it was important enough.
I’ve tried to have a more loose approach to bookmarking lately. After years of collecting bookmarks to never be read, or mass deleting hundreds of posts marked for later in my favorite reader app, I try to not worry too much about losing something.
However, every now and then there’s a post I’ve read that stuck with me, and it’s so good but I just cannot find it again. My habit now is to write about those posts so there’s at least a chance of finding them on my blog later.
