Google just changed their logo. They’ve moved from a solid color scheme to a gradient running across all their colors. As a designer who worked on several Google projects, I had to use the previous logo as a vector object, and a few times recreated it is from a
New generative AI products mean new higher prices for individual Adobe Creative Cloud customers, unless they downgrade to a version with fewer features. ... But it doesn't end there. In a move evocative of the latest season of Black Mirror, those who don't want to pay more
[…] As jobs push people to be automatons and often offer little in the way of respect, it’s easy to quietly quit. But perhaps, they’re not paying you enough to not care. Spending your days, day after day, not caring is a tragedy. They might not deserve your focus
I don’t like meetings. Not because I don’t like people, or having great conversations. On the contrary, some of my happiest times are chatting about geeky topics, or deep topics, or light topics, with amazing people. Having connections with others, talking to colleagues, meeting with friends, are all
A few weeks ago I wrote about iCloud’s “hide my email”. I’m now using it almost weekly, mostly with Safari’s auto-fill. It gives me a tiny sense of freedom after decades of spam abuse. Chris Coyier shared similar frustrations, and it got me thinking about the

This week I was reminded how important it is to stay flexible as a designer. I was creating a bunch of pages for a complex flow intended for a business type of user. I’d gone over the flow numerous times, buttoned up the pages, and tried to make sure
I am dissatisfied when I ask ChatGPT or Claude.ai to write something for me. The writing has no life, no flair. It’s repeating patterns it’s been trained on, and the result is a pretty good imitation, but the voice is tinny and robotic. Anyone exploring AI has
