Most kids don’t enjoy chores, they take hours to finish. But if the kid is going to the water park when they’re done, will they finish faster? It’s all in the motivation. I don’t always enjoy my work, but I can choose my attitude when approaching a project.

With the right attitude there are times when I truly enjoy what I’m doing. I tune out from my surroundings. Time stops and all the gears are firing as I work efficiently and effortlessly. When I snap out of it a hour may have passed. It’s a wonderful feeling called “in the zone”. Others have written on this topic and shared ways to return to this zone on a consistent basis. It’s finding the conditions that allow you to get in the zone and replicating them. I’m going to work on having a motivating attitude as I work.
